Indonesia Cosplay Grand Prix (ICGP) is known for hosting lively cosplay competitions in various cities across Indonesia. On Sunday (3/3/2024), the organizers held this event at Tentrem Mall in Semarang, which started at 10.00 WIB. The event was enthusiastically welcomed by local and non-local cosplayers, both competition and non-competition participants.

Genshin Impact fans did not want to miss out on the excitement and attended the event to cosplay their favorite Genshin characters. One of the Genshin players, Riri, was found cosplaying Shenhe. She chose Shenhe as the character to be cosplayed because she thinks the character has a unique and interesting design and story.

"Genshin's character designs are varied and very interesting. They highlight the unique characteristics of each country, such as Shenhe who comes from Liyue (China) and wears traditional Chinese clothing. The game also takes references from certain countries such as Germany, England, Japan, and Egypt, and highlights their characteristics. The lore of each character is also very interesting, and the personality of each Genshin character is very unique, which interests me in playing that character," said the owner of Instagram account @mytmori_. She also admitted that she had been a Genshin Impact player since November 2020 before deciding to become one of the Genshin cosplayers.

Besides Riri, Aga also cosplayed Kaveh on that occasion. The owner of the Instagram account @28sfeetunder admitted that she has been playing Genshin Impact for a year and still counting. Aga herself admitted that the reason she chose to cosplay this character was because, aside from being a Genshin player, she thought the costume and hair design were complicated and artistic.

"I love Kaveh's personality, the design, and gameplay in the game is unique, I like it so much that I even saved up and bought this Kaveh costume for cosplay," Aga said when asked why she chose Kaveh out of the many Genshin characters.

It is not surprising that Genshin Impact's popularity is quite massive among gamers and anime lovers. The game's unique and beautiful animations and visuals, coupled with an interesting in-game story, make it very popular even among cosplayers. As an organizer, ICGP succeeded in showing Genshin Impact's triumph in creating a huge fandom community. After its success in Semarang, the Indonesia Cosplay Grand Prix (ICGP) plans to continue its journey in several big cities in Indonesia such as Bandung, Medan, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Pekanbaru and Jogja.
